Rhetorical Approaches to Social Movements

Examination of definitional, theoretical, and methodological issues unique to rhetorical criticism of social movements as articulated in contemporary scholarly debates such as the nature of a rhetorical movement, the role of communication in development of rhetorical movements, method(s) appropriate to study of modes of symbolic activity in rhetorical movements, and the ethical status of the critic of rhetorical movements.
