Advanced Discrete Simulation

An in-depth exploration of recent research in the area of discrete simulation, building on the introductory course to modeling and simulation. Focuses on discrete paradigms including cellular automata, agent based models, and network models. May cover aspects such as hybrid models, spatial simulations, large-scale simulations, or in the interplay of simulations with areas such as interactive visualizations. Extensive reading of research articles and team-based project. Extensive laboratory work
