Materials and Methods of Teaching English Language Arts

A. At the Secondary Level. Methods, curriculum materials, and technologies essential to the teacher of English Language Arts. Emphasis on designing coherent and integrated units of instruction, including the strategic use of assessments to foster learning. Developing a variety of activities and multiple representations of concepts to accommodate diverse students characteristics and abilities, especially for learners at the high level (9-12). Aligned with the Common Core Standards, the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards, and the National Council of Teachers of English standards for teaching English Language Arts. B. At the Middle Level.
