An exploration of spirituality as it relates to the profession of social work. It differentiates spirituality from religion and explores how these two concepts support and conflict with each other. It provides a framework for the clarification of the learners values, provides opportunities for the continuing acquisition of knowledge of diverse spiritual traditions, and encourages the development of spirituality-sensitive practice interventions. A number of concepts under the definition of spirituality are explored with an emphasis on the many ways spirituality can be used in a variety of social work practice settings
