This course is an advanced study in studio lighting techniques used in the production of commercial and advertising photography. Topics of instruction include advanced studio and location lighting set-ups, shooting with a specific art direction, and studies in composition and meaning of advertising photographs. Students will capture a variety of industry specific assignments including Food/Beverage, Fashion/ Retail, Travel/Leisure, and Consumers products. Commercial postprocessing techniques with imaging software will also be discussed. The class includes: lectures, visual presentations and discussions, an on-location field trip, lab time, written tests, and a portfolio geared toward a professional presentation. Students must provide their own adjustable cameras and related instructional materials.
