This course introduces students to Womens Studiesan interdisciplinary field of study that centers gender as an important site of critical inquiry. Rooted in feminist philosophy, this course will use a wide range of interdisciplinary concepts, tools, and methods to ask questions about womens inequality, intersectional identities, and the movements organized to support the rights of women and the freedom of all people. This course will consider these essential questions through a variety of disciplines and lenses including but not limited to history, economics, literature, religion, fine arts, technology, politics, and sociology.
