Managing Nonprofit Organizations in a Global Environment

This introduction course will examine the theory and practice of leadership and decision-making in the nonprofit sector. Students will be exposed to core, classic and contemporary theories on leadership, management, governance, and organizational effectiveness of nonprofit organizations both domestically and internationally. Additionally, students will be exposed to NGOs that operate internationally. The course will cover the challenges and successes of operating outside of the business and government model. The course will offer hands on experience working with a nonprofit organization.
