PLT 307

Certified Flight Instructor Instrument

This elective course provides the student the opportunity to gain certification as a CFII. It has been said that the best way to learn is to teach, and in this intensive course, the student will do just that, in what some consider the most challenging environments there are. The responsibility to teach others to fly effectively in less than ideal conditions requires a deep understanding of human nature and learning process that support management principles across many fields, and in completing this course, students will also receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for them to meet the standards contained in the Instrument Flight Instructor practical test standards and Single-Engine Land with Instrument Airplane rating. It is ADAFAs policy to fly in real world conditions as often as possible, and so the additional training received in actual conditions is an excellent addition to a students flying repertoire. Additionally, the student will receive extensive training in student/instructor cockpit resource management and safe flying practices, review and utilize practical teaching techniques and procedures, and develop decision making acumen in an instructional environment. At the conclusion of the course, the student will have completed all the requirements to meet the Practical Test Standards for Instrument Instructor and receive an Instrument add-on to his or her Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.
