This course explores the popular music of America, considering the influence of Native American, African American, Latino and European cultures and the resulting American musical styles such as Folk, Country, Blues, Zydeco, Cajun, Dixieland, Jazz, Salsa, Stage Musicals, Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Hip Hop.
