First Year Seminar: Building Community and Success

First Year Seminar is a course designed to help students transition successfully to 'engaged' membership in the SC community. As such, first year students will be challenged through learning opportunities designed to enhance their self-reflection and critical thinking skills as they make choices related to engagement in their program of study and in the co-curriculum. Designed to build a base of individual knowledge, skills, and attitudes for emerging membership in the community of SC graduates as leaders in service, learning opportunities will provide experiential support for the academic and social skills needed by those who are successful Springfield College students
