This course provides sport practitioners with a working knowledge of the administrative, managerial, supervisory, and leadership processes in managing sports organizations. The developments of competencies in these areas are designed to emphasize the importance of academic training of competent professionals. By the end of this course, sports practitioners should be able to describe theoretical concepts in management and decision-making; describe concepts of strategic planning; describe the benefits and limitations of various leadership styles; identify professional and collegiate sport governance entities; and articulate principles in human resource management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
