CHEM 3118 provides a strong background in those chemical principles that are particularly important to analytical chemistry, such as the ability to obtain high-quality analytical data. Students gain experience with techniques of sampling and analysis, including an introduction to instrumental methods. Additionally, students develop the skills needed to solve analytical problems in a quantitative manner, with the aid of spreadsheet tools. The post laboratory assignments demonstrate a writing process that follows the guidelines of the American Chemical Society. Note: Laboratory course to be taken concurrently with CHEM 3111
