Number Theory and Rational Numbers

This academy provides paraeducators with the skills and knowledge needed to assist students with specific mathematics skills typically taught in grades five though eight. This academy solidifies the concepts learned in assisting with K 4 math and provides a base for assisting with high school mathematics. It includes the specific skill building areas of number sense; computational techniques for fractions, decimals and percents and their related applications as they apply to intermediate and middle school learners. The course content is designed and adapted from the standards recommended by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
