LATN 2010

Intermediate Latin I

Introduces advanced Latin grammar, vocabulary, syntax, and stylistics of Latin prose via readings in Caesar, Cicero and Livy. Includes review of basic Latin grammar, plus introduction to Latin prose composition and Latin rhetoric. Emphasis on historical, cultural, social context of authors and works. Note: This course assumes that students have passed LATN 1020 or equivalent, or have taken two years of high school Latin, or possess equivalent proficiency. A grade of C- or higher in LATN 1020 is recommended for success in this course.
