MATH 5576

Mathematical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence I

Infrequent. A fundamentals course that complements other approaches, such as in engineering, psychology, and business administration. Here the emphasis is on the mathematical foundations. Topics include logical inference, problem solving, heuristic search, neural nets, analogical reasoning and learning. Models and paradigms also consider different measures of uncertainty. Note: This course assumes that students have the equivalent of an undergraduate course in data structures (e.g., CSCI 2511) and a course in linear algebra (e.g., MATH 3191). Cross-listed with MATH 4576.
