Topics to be covered include: trees and optimization, encoding and embedding of graphs, generalized colorings and applications, perfect graphs, extremal problems, substructures, connectedness and cycles. Note: This course assumes that students have the equivalent of graduate-level coursework in graph theory (e.g. MATH 6404). Term offered: spring of even years.
