Building on PUAD 5005, students learn how policy is developed and implemented in several levels of government - local, state, federal - and within organizations themselves. The course makes use of the case studies to explore the intricacies of developing and implementing policy and the political, economic, and institutional contexts that affect these two states of policy development. Students also consider the different criteria that can be used to judge the effectiveness of programs and policies.
