Contemporary Latin American Culture and Institutions

Introduction to contemporary Latin American culture and institutions, with emphasis on the social, economic and political institutions of Spanish-speaking countries. Note: This course assumes that students have passed SPAN 2120 or 2130 or equivalent, or have taken four years of high school Spanish, or possess equivalent proficiency. A grade of C- or higher in SPAN 2120 or 2130 is recommended for success in this course.
