We will trace the evolution of human culture through time, focusing on well-known archaeological sites in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, examine long-term change in human societies focusing on the major developments in human physical and cultural evolution, such as tool-making, hunting, art, music, religion, the domestication of plants and animals, the rise of cities and states. Causes for these changes will be considered in detail
