Medicinal Plant Biochemistry - CUE, WR

A detailed study of biosynthesis and bioactivity of specialized plant metabolites (secondary metabolites). Topics will include aspects of general plant metabolism as well as specialized metabolism pathways (alkaloids, terpenes and phenolics) and will include a survey of approaches as they relate to discovery of bioactive plant metabolites and a review of known plant metabolites used to treat human diseases/disorders
