Survey of American Jazz - AH, D1
Non-music majors will have a historical examination of the evolution of jazz music. They will study the development of various stylistic trends that characterize jazz and the socioeconomic factors and events that have influenced it as well as the evolution of its musical style and form. Students will be introduced to innovators through their recordings. (Humanities)
