The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to social factors that impact health. Theories and evidence supporting multiple underlying determinants of health in populations are presented. This course will explore how social influences such as socioeconomic status, environment, policy, gender, race, sexual orientation, and neighborhood quality affect population health. This course will study intervention approaches to improve population health outcomes. This course examines structural factors that impact population health in the U.S. as well as structural interventions to address health inequities
