Social Work and the Law
This course is designed to: 1) familiarize students with the legal system and the various roles of social workers within the legal arena; 2) increase student understanding of the impact of the legal system on social work clients and client groups; 3) increase student understanding of the interface of the law with professional social work practice; and 4) develop and enhance the skills needed by the professional social worker in situations where social work and the law interface
