An introduction to the process of scientific writing for Biology majors. Biology students are routinely required to produce a variety of written products, such as lab reports, research papers, and grant/research proposals. This course helps students gain proficiency in the written and oral communication of scientific works by using effective reasoning and interpretation skills. Additionally, it provides practical experience in experimental design, conducting scientific literature research, as well as drawing biological conclusions from published data and articulating those conclusions to an appropriate audience. The main goal of this course is to help build a foundation in scientific writing through a combination of in-class workshops and online activities in a hybrid format.
