ETME 2130

Applied Materials and Manufacturing I

Presents a fusion of material science and the applied processes used to form engineering materials into useful components or assemblies. This course is part 1 of a two-segment series. It focuses on metallic materials with crystalline structure, and the specific processes used to form and finish these materials. Practical instruction in theory of machine tool operation, casting, rolling and joining is presented. Alloying, heat treatment, corrosion and operational environment appropriate for the subject materials in discussed.
