GEOL 4140

Coastal Geology

Examination of coastal environments, sediments, and wave-related processes in the present and geologic past. Major topics considered include barrier-island and salt-marsh development, sea-level fluctuations, and the relationship between human development and natural hazards. Three lecture hours per week and one two-day field trip.
