Technology and Science in Society I: Before the Industrial Revolution

The worldwide history of science and technology from the Stone Age to the steam engine, with particular emphasis on the Scientific Revolution of the 16th and 17th centuries. Examines the impact of scientific and technological change on society and the ways in which society shaped the development of science and technology. This course does not require a background in science or technology.
