MSCI 1102

Introduction to Leadership

Overview of leadership fundamentals such as setting direction, the profession of arms, listening, presenting briefs, providing feedback, and using effective writing skills. Students explore dimensions of leadership attributes and core leader competencies in the context of practical, hands-on, and interactive exercises. Cadets who are contracted or conditionally contracted by the end of their Freshman year may be required to attend Cadet Initial Entry Training (CIET) at Fort Knox, KY, during the summer. Participation in leadership lab is required. There is no military obligation to take this course; open to all UNC Charlotte and CAEC consortium students. Participation in leadership lab is required.
