Introduction to Stage Performance

Introduction to the basic principles and techniques of increasing vocal and physical awareness for the stage. In the vocal awareness segment, the concept of freeing your voice is explored. In the physical awareness section, the focus is primarily on neutral presence through elements of the Alexander technique, and through the basic principles of physical theatre from the point of view of the Lecoq training. The main goal is to unlearn vocal and physical bad habits and re-learn what it means to simply stand up in front of an audience and BE. Students learn and apply a set of analytical and problem-solving skills, oral communication proficiencies, and practice and collaboration.
